End of module Questionnaire

Age? 19

Sex? Female

What is your degree subject (both if joint)? Health studies

Does ‘Being Bad’ relate well to the other modules you are taking? No

If so, how? And if not, why not? The School of Health decided to cancel a module and not inform us of any changes, so we were left to chose an elective.

Have you found ‘Being Bad’ too demanding, too easy, or at an appropriate level?
I have found being bad at an appropriate level, the work wasnt too hard and it was a good module. (A change from the rest)

Do you think the list of topics covered on the module was appropriate?Yes, i think the topics were appriopriate,

Are there any topics not included in the module that you would like to see included? I would have like to seen animal testing and fox hunting on the module.

Do you think that the format for classes has worked well? Yes i think the lectures worked well, and the blog lessons were well run.

What did you think of the module team? The module team made a change from the usual lectures you have, ( that go on and on forever)

Do you think it would have been better to have had more:
Small group discussions? No, class discussions are the best as it provides more of an argument.
Discussion and debate among the class as a whole? No, there was plenty of debate from the whole class.
Information and talk from lecturers? No, there was sufficient talking time from the lecture, the module was balanced in a sense that the lectureres did not go on forever and there was an equal balnace of discussions.

The approach taken in the module is interdisciplinary (drawing on perspectives from English Literature, Film Studies, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Media Studies and Politics): do you think this a useful way of approaching the topics covered in the module? Yes the lectures provided a range of all these aspects.

Do you think that interdisciplinary modules are a good idea? Not sure.

Do you think you have benefited from the interdisciplinary approach taken in the module? No, not really.

Would you like to see more modules that cover this kind of subject matter? Yes, but of different topics.

Are you planning to take the follow-up module PH2004 ‘It Shouldn’t Be Allowed’ at level 2? Don't think so, unless i am forced too.

Would you recommend ‘Being Bad’ to a friend? Yes, i thought it was interesting, and again different from the other lectures.

Do you think that the blogs (web logs) were a good idea? Yes in a way because it allowed you to reflect on other peoples blogs and posts and it allowed you to write what you thought of the module. However, i wasn't aware untill the email that you could only do 1 blog a day, which i thought was a bit much.

What did you think of the other assessments (e.g. would it be better to have one longer assessment rather than two shorter ones?)? Yes one longer assessment would have been better, but there again the 2 little essays weren't long.

What have you learned from the module? That people have different perspectives and ideas about what is bad and what is not.

What parts of the module have you found most useful and why? Everything really, i found the body modification lecture interesting.

What parts do you think were a waste of time and why? Nothing was really a waste of time there were topics that others enjoyed, where some did not.

Are there any other comments you wish to make regarding ‘Being Bad’? No.
